D.C. Police Boss Robert J. Contee III announced the arrest of the suspect — a 17-year-old teenager — at a news conference on Wednesday.

He depicted the incident as “one more case of an adolescent with an illegal firearm,” and added, “That’s it. We have to keep firearms out of the hands of the young in our city.”

Contee said public tips assisted authorities with identifying the adolescent arrested, who was 16 at the hour of the shooting earlier this mid year.

“It was because the local area called and messaged our tip line that we are able to make this arrest,” he said.

The Police Boss also noticed that authorities are as yet looking for two other suspects involved, and that investigators are trying to determine who discharged the shots that hit Robinson Jr., 23.

Two individuals, including the youngster arrested, are accepted to have had access to a firearm, while another drove a car to move away, Contee said.

Police didn’t reveal the character of the 17-year-old, who is charged as an adolescent with assault with intent to loot while armed. The case remains being scrutinized.

Robinson was shot two times in the right leg along H Road in northeast Washington back in August

. A police spokesman told ESPN at the time that Robinson had “a couple gunfire wounds to his lower limits.”

“Upon arrival, individuals located an adult male casualty suffering from shot injuries,” police said in an earlier news release.

“The casualty was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-hazardous injuries.” Robinson Jr. was then back on the field in September, under three weeks after being shot in the leg.

He posted recordings on his Instagram Story showing his intensive training, along with the caption, “Day 1 back on the field 🙏🏾.” The Commanders’ media team said at the time that Robinson “continues to make progress in his recuperation from numerous shot injuries,” adding that he actually had “a long way to go, however his advancement is certainly incredible.”

Robinson recently played football at the College of Alabama, where he was on two School Football Playoff National Championship teams.  He was picked by the Commanders in the third round of the 2022 NFL draft.
