The next series in Guillermo del Toro’s Tales of Arcardia is 3Below and its voice cast includes some surprisingly big stars. A follow-up to Trollhunters, 3Below returns to the town of Arcadia Oaks - only instead of focusing on trolls who live below the surface, it’s aliens who’ve crash-landed.

Following a coup on their home planet of Akiridian-5 that kills their parents, Princess Aja and Prince Krel escape with their bodyguard, Varvatos Vex. When their ship crash lands on Earth, they must find a way to repair their ship so they can return home while also keeping the truth of their identities a secret. Along the way, Aja and Krel cross paths with Jim Lake, the Trollhunter, as the events of Trollhunters season 3 coincide with 3Below season 1.

The crossover with Trollhunters means that characters like Jim (Emile Hirsch), Claire (Lexi Medrano), and Toby (Charlie Saxton) all make appearances across 3Below’s first season, but they aren’t the only Trollhunters characters who show up. Additionally, the actors who are portraying the new characters of 3Below include some pretty big stars from not just animation, but feature films and television. Here’s a breakdown of who is play whom on Netflix and DreamWorks’ 3Below: Tales of Arcadia.

3Below’s Alien Voice Cast

Tatiana Maslany as Princess Aja Tarron: Lively and adventurous, Aja is a bit of a thrill-seeker and a tough warrior. As the daughter of the royal family, she is the heir to Akiridian-5’s throne and is officially dubbed queen-in-waiting. Once on Earth, Aja takes the form of an ordinary teenage girl in order to blend in. Aja is played by Tatiana Maslany, an actress best known for her breakout role as Sarah Manning and her many clones on Orphan Black.

Diego Luna as Prince Krel Tarron: A bit less outgoing than his older sister, Krel is a genius when it comes to inventions and repairs. Like Aja, he is also heir to Akiridian-5’s throne and is dubbed king-in-waiting. On Earth, Krel appears as a young Latino and he develops a love for Earth music. Diego Luna is known to many for his role as Cassian Andor in Rogue One (a role he’s reprising for a new live-action series on Disney+) as well as Félix Gallardo in Netflix’s Narcos.

Nick Offerman as Commander Varvatos Vex: The bodyguard for the young royals, Varvatos Vex is an incredibly loyal and ferocious guardian. He relishes a good fight and only ever refers to himself third-person. His earth form is that of a senior citizen, which he finds soft and weak. Varvatos Vex is voiced by Nick Offerman, best known for his role as Ron Swanson on NBC’s Parks and Recreation.

Glenn Close as Mothership: The computer of their downed ship, Mother is an A.I. that not only helps the Akiridians to better understand human culture, she cares for the young Aja and Krell as if she were their actual mother. Glenn Close is, of course, an actress with many credits to her name, most recently appearing in the film, The Wife.

Tom Kenny & Cheryl Hines as DadBlank & MomBlank: In order to help with the cover story that they’re a new family in town, Mother creates an artificial set of parents from a pair of robots called Blanks. But since all of Mother’s data on human culture is roughly 60 years old, the parents are basically recreations of 1950s sitcom parents. Famed voice actor, Tom Kenny (Spongebob Squarepants) is voicing DadBlank, while Curb Your Enthusiasm’s Chery Hines is voicing MomBlank.

Frank Welker as Luug: Joining Aja and Krel is their pet, Luug, a small, purple alien creature who on Earth is disguised a corgi. Providing Luug’s vocal effects is legendary voice actor Frank Welker (Scooby-Doo, Transformers).

Nick Frost as Stewart: The Akiridians are not the only aliens in Arcadia. Another is Stewart, a taco-truck vendor and pawn shop salesman who’s been hiding on Earth for years. Stewart assists Aja, Krel, and Vex in their acclimation to Earth as well as supplying them with what they need to repair their alien tech. Nick Frost is best known for his roles as Ed, Danny, and Andy in Edgar Wright’s Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy.

Alon Aboutboul as General Morando: Aja and Krel must flee Akiridian-5 when their parents are killed by Morando in a coup. He then takes over the planet as its new dictator. Alon Aboutboul is an Israeli actor most will recognize as Dr. Pavel in The Dark Knight Rises.

Hayley Atwell as Lieutenant Zadra: When on Akiridian-5, Zadra stays behind to ensure the young royals and Vex can escape. Afterwards, she works alongside the resistance and investigates who may have betrayed the Tarron family, enabling the coup to take place. Actress Hayley Atwell is perhaps best known for her role as Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, beginning with Captain America: The First Avenger.

Danny Trejo as Tronos: Tronos is an alien with a dragon-like appearance. He breathes blue fire, but can also create, conduct and travel through electricity. He starts out as a villain in 3Below season 2, a member of the bounty hunter gang, Zeron Brotherhood, but gradually comes to work with Aja and Krel against Kubritz.

3Below’s Human Voice Cast

Steven Yeun as Steve Palchuk: A returning character from Trollhunters, Palchuk is another student at Arcadia Oaks High who pretends he’s a bully to cover for his own insecurities. He has a crush on Aja, eventually dating her as the series goes on. The Walking Dead’s Steven Yeun voices Palchuk.

Cole Sand as Eli Pepperjack: Steve’s best friend is Eli, a squirrely kid obsessed with conspiracies. Voicing Eli is Cole Sands (Austin & Ally, Parenthood).

Fred Tatasciore as Señor Uhl: The Spanish teacher and interim principle of Arcadia Oaks High, Señor Uhl helps to make the transition as easy as possible for his new students, Aja and Krel. Returning to voice Senor Uhl is Fred Tatsciore, a voice artist who also portrays AAARRRGGHH!!! on Trollhunters.

Uzo Aduba as Officer Kubritz: When Aja, Krel, and Vex sneak into a nearby military base to steal some alien tech, they’re almost apprehended by Officer Kubritz, the base’s commanding officer. Playing her is Orange is the New Black’s Uzo Aduba.
